Greeting and Blessing:
This is to acknowledge receipt of your letter of November 22nd, with the enclosure. Thank you very much for your thoughtfulness in sending it to me.
May G-d grant that your efforts to spread and strengthen traditional Yiddishkeit in your community should be crowned with the utmost Hatzlocho, especially as we have the assurance of our Sages of blessed memory - Yogato u'Motzoso. In view of the precise choice of words and expressions used by our Sages, it has been pointed out that the expression u'Motzoso indicates the idea of a Metzioh. In other words, our Sages tell us that where there is a real effort, the gain is out of all proportion with the effort, as in the case of a Metzioh.
I trust that you duly observed the historic day of Yud Tes Kislev, the significance of which is undoubtedly known to you and your wife through the late Rabbi Ashkenzi of blessed memory.
Wishing you and yours a joyous and inspiring Chanukah,
With blessing,
M. Schneerson
