By the Grace of G-d 20th of Kislev, 5725 Brooklyn, N. Y.

Blessing and Greeting:
I received your letter of the 12th of Kislev, and may G-d grant the fulfillment of your heart’s desires for good in all the matters about which you write.
With the approach of Chanukah, I trust you surely remember what our Sages tell us about the role which Jewish women played in the miracle of Chanukah, in those days at this season. The purpose of the remembrance and celebration of our festivals is to convert the inspiration of the festival into the daily life. The message of Chanukah, in particular, emphasizes the need, to spread the light of the Torah and Mitzvoth in a growing measure, just as the lights of Chanukah are kindled with an additional Chanukah light each day.
Wishing you and yours a happy and inspiring Chanukah
With blessing
By (secretary)

Notes and sources
We only have a draft of this letter. On the header of this letter, the Rebbe added the word בשם, meaning that this letter should be signed by the Rebbe's secretary in the name of the Rebbe.
1) On this copy, the secretary's copy, the Rebbe added the following for the secretary to translate it into English and add it to the bottom of the letter. Unfortunately, we do not have the final text written in English. We provide here a loose translation:
As requested I will remember them at the resting place [of my father-in-law of saintly memory].
In reply to your question regarding the relationship with your parents, may they live and be well, concerning eating, etc. - it is self-understood that in matters concerning Shulchan Aruch there is no room for concessions, however, this too must be done in a pleasant manner, etc.
