By the Grace of G-d 2nd of Tammuz, 5723 Brooklyn, N. Y.
Greeting and Blessing:
After not having heard from you for a long time, I received your letter of the 19th of May with the enclosure.
You write about the situation in a certain country and also suggest a certain action.
I trust you know that efforts have been made in various quarters, but unfortunately with negligible results, for reasons which cannot be entered into here. I can also assure you that further efforts are being made, although much is left to be desired. This is also of the aspects which cannot be elaborated upon in this letter.
Taking advantage of the auspicious time of Pesach, I personally addressed a general letter, and also wrote privately in connection with this problem, but again the results were disappointing.
Needless to say, I do not wish to minimize my own responsibility, and I will with G-d's help, continue to do what I can. The above lines are only in the way of sharing with you my own feelings and disappointments, and to express the fervent hope that with G-d's help, something substantial will be accomplished in the future.
With blessing
