By the Grace of G-d 21st of Sivan, 5717 Brooklyn, N.Y.
Sholom uBrocho:
I received your letter, in which you write that this Shabbos you will be Bar Mitzvah, and from that time you yourself will be responsible for your actions, and you ask to be blessed to succeed in this direction.
I was pleased to read the above, for it gives me the confidence that, realizing your responsibilities, you will do everything on your part to carry them out in your daily life, in conduct according to the way of the Torah and Mitzvoth. For then you have the promise of the Torah: "If you try hard – you will succeed."1
Needless to say, a good resolution is not enough, nor is it enough to think and speak about it. But it has to be translated into action, in every-day life. I send you my prayerful wishes to succeed, and that your parents and teachers have much real Nachas from you, real Nachas being Yiddish Nachas.
With blessing
M. Schneerson
