By the grace of G-d29thof Adar, 5713Brooklyn, 13, N.Y.
I have received your letter.
With reference to Rabbi Margolis whose poor health you describe in your letter, I understand that there are some great specialists in Boston, and no doubt he has consulted some of them. If the outstanding specialists in this field are in New York, it would be advisable that he consult them here. I cannot understand why his pains cannot be alleviated; that at least should be possible.
It would be a good thing for Rabbi Margolis to give ('Bli Neder’) 1.2 cents to Tzedoko every weekday, and to say Tillim every morning as it is divided into the days of the month. Both things are a Segula to receive G-d's blessings in need.
Inasmuch as you write that Rabbi Margolis is the one who put you on the right path, the more you will do in matters of Torah and Mitzvoth, the greater will be his Zechus also for improved health.
Regarding your grandfather, no doubt he is under doctor’s care and following doctor's instructions. I would suggest that the Mezuzoth in his house be checked and that he, too, should give 1.2 cents to Tzedoko every weekday morning before Davnen, and say Tillim as above, and if possible also learn a few Psukim of Chumash with Rashi of the weekly Sidrah every day.
On visiting the holy resting place of my father-on-law of saintly memory, I remembered you in prayer. It is hardly necessary to emphasize the vital importance of holding fast to the Torah and Mitzvoth, the only way to true happiness for our people as whole and for each one individually. The sign of life is in growth, so I trust you will go from strength of strength, and the Almighty will bless you with abundant blessings. I will be glad to hear good news in connection with all above.
With blessing for a kosher and joyous Pesach
The enclosed Purim Message1 is of interest all the year round.
